What can be motorized

Battery vs wired
Battery motors need no wiring or wall chasing — you can even decide after renovation, and they suit rentals. For large heavy drapes in daily use, a wired motor is more stable.
Existing hand-pulled tracks can often take an add-on motor in place; dead or stalling motors can be replaced on their own.
Smart home integration
Motors can join ecosystems like Xiaomi Home or Matter/HomeKit-style platforms for voice and scene control — sunrise open, sunset close, coordinated with lighting and AC.
Reserve these before renovation
- Curtain box depth and a ceiling structure that can take the track
- Power point placement — or choose battery motors
- Motor torque matched to drape weight and track length
- Stable Wi-Fi / hub coverage
- Commercial sites need fire-retardant compliance (e.g. BS 5867 Type B) — tell the shop upfront
